Refund Policy of the Virginia School of Pet Grooming in Manassas, VA
Cancellation prior to the commencement of classes: If the school does not accept the application or cancels the enrollment, all fees paid except the application fee will be fully refunded. If cancellation is requested in writing by the applicant, parent or guardian 3 working days after signing the enrollment agreement, all fees except the application fee will be refunded. Notice of cancellation should be sent by registered mail with the return receipt requested. The postmark on the letter will determine the date of cancellation.
Termination or Withdrawal after the start of classes: Students may withdraw voluntarily from our program at any time they choose. In this case, the student must submit his intention to withdraw in writing by receipt requested certified mail. . Voluntary/involuntary terminations after classes begin will result in the Virginia School of Pet Grooming retaining a portion of the tuition. The percentage that will be retained will be determined by the number of weeks the student has attended. In all cases, the application/enrollment fee of $100 and the supply and maintenance fee of $900 are non-refundable.

Schedule for Percentage of Tuition Refunded to Student
a. Expenses incurred by students for the $900 supply and maintenance fees and the $100 enrollment fee are not part of the tuition fee and are non-refundable. Any outstanding charge for items, such as additional equipment ordered by the student or costs incurred during their time at the school, will be subtracted from the tuition refund if not paid for at the time of withdrawal or termination.
This calculation applies to both full and part time Students. If the student misses more than 14 classes with no notification or has four days of unexcused absences, the student will be withdrawn.
RETENTION OF TUITION. If a student does choose to withdrawal or has been withdrawn from class, the school retains a percentage of the $4000.00 tuition cost and the $900.00 maintenance and supply fees, and the $100.00 enrollment fee are not refundable. To determine the time of withdrawal date goes as follows: Refunds will be calculated from the first day of class to the day the school receives the certified letter that you have withdrawn from school. All refund calculations will be the amount of days a student attended class in each of the 4 sections below a) If the date occurs during the first three and one half weeks(1-18 days), then up to twenty-five percent (25%) of tuition is retained by the School; b) If the date occurs in the second three and one half weeks(19-36 days), then up to fifty percent (50%) of tuition is retained by the school; c) If the date occurs in the third three and one half week of the course(37-54 days), then up to seventy-five (75%) is retained by the school; d) If the date occurs after the completion of the third three and one half weeks of the course, then the School retains one-hundred percent (100%) of tuition.
REFUND BALANCE. If after determining the retained tuition pursuant to paragraph and deducting any additional expenses or cost (if a refund still exists), the balance will be mailed within 45 business days from the date that school receives the certified withdraw letter or the 14 day no show clause withdrawal as stated in section 2.04 in the amount as calculated in section 2.05 above. A prorated refund may occur depending on the number of days attended in each section of section 2.05.
b. If the student improperly withdraws or is terminated, additional charges may result and be deducted from the balance of the refund.

Student Complaint Resolution
If a student has any reason to be interested in any aspect of the courses offered at the Virginia School of Pet Grooming, they are encouraged to set up an appointment with the school’s Director. A sincere effort will be made to resolve any problems during this meeting.
The Virginia School of Pet Grooming welcomes input from its students concerning issues or grievances with the school curriculum, facility or instructors. Students are encouraged to notify the school Director or any instructor with such issues. There will be no discipline or retaliation against any student for bringing these matters to the attention of the school.
If, after meeting with the Director, the student feels the problem has not been resolved, they are then encouraged to take their complaint to the State Council of Higher Education. The student may write to the following:
